This is my first tme ever writing a review. I was compelled to tell my story. I didnt know that Nashville had resorts. I arrive early in the morning for a conference. I stopped at the front desk to get direction to the convention center. I happened to mention that I knew I couldnt check in until 3pm and it was 8am at the time. The front counter lady said quotlet me checkquot She checked and I was able to check in early without an added charge.quot The room was comfortable. When I entered the room the lights were own and the radio was playing soothing music. It really made me feel special because although I was there for a conference I was staying longer to get some RR. The beds were comfortable The room was clean and smelling nice. I will say the hotel is extrememly large and divided by sections. I got lost several times in the bulding but i needed the exercise. Ordered room service almost every day. Although it was advertised as a 30 minute wait...it took 10 minutes and the deliverers reminded me that I didnt need to provide an added tip because it was included in the bill. The service personnel was friendly and would often greet you in the hallway. Check out was made simple with a friendly quotYou come back now you here!quot As I stood outside the hotel waiting on my ride every service personnel kept asking me who I was waiting for and how could they help me. Once they discovered that they couldnt help me they would start a conversation. I will definitely stay again. Im actually looking to schedule my next trip now.

  • Gaylord - Worth the Money?

While the hotel has many beautiful plants, waterfalls, and gardens to walk through, it is a very expensive place to stay. And, the add-on features - On-site Spa, river boat activity, restaurants- are expensive. I liken this to a theme-park plus hotel - be prepared to spend $*on a breakfast of coffee, cereal and a muffin. Their pool was "being cleaned" so we were advised to go across the stree to their sister property, the Ramada Inn to swim. Perhaps it would be better to simply stay at the Ramada and come walk through the gardens at Gaylord.

Visited this hotel at Christmas, but didn't stay there. Was extremely crowded. But, when we arrived the Sunday before Easter, it was very quiet, Our room in Cascades was wonderful. Had a waterfall view and sound that was very relaxing. Quick check in and check out. All employees we came in contact with were very friendly. Food was pricey at resturants, but expected that. Some of the resturants were closed during our visit (Sunday till Thursday), enough were open for us to eat on site if we wanted to. Beds were also very comfortable and our room was clean and well maintained. I would like to retire to this hotel! Our reservation through Travel Website was easy and we have not had any problems with them when we get to the hotel. The rate throught Travel Website was better than the coporate my husband could have gotten, and we wouldn't have gotten an interior room thru his work. The interior rooms at this hotel are worth the money.

Love the hotel. The atriums are breathtaking. Most of the staff couldn't do enough for you. We had a factinating Afgan waiter. However, service was not entirely consistent. One person at the front desk was snippy and one young lady in the C lobby serving coffee, drinks and snacks was clearly unhappy with her job and took it out on the customers. Overall great stay. After primitive camping for three days in cold and rain, room and beds were awesome.

Upon arrival we waited approximately 30 minutes in line to reach valet parking. Check-in took about another 30 minutes. Once in our room we realized that we had received two queen beds as opposed to the king bed we had reserved. We called the front desk and were told someone would call us regarding this. We NEVER received a call back. On a positive note we ordered room service for dinner and breakfast and both were delivered in less than 30 minutes (however it was extremely expensive--breakfast for 2 ran us $*). The hotel atmosphere is absolutely amazing with beautiful conservatories. Its location to the Opry Mills Mall is also a plus. We spent the day shopping and had a nice dinner at one of the mall restaurants. The hotel sedan took us to downtown Nashville and it ran us about $* which is only a few more dollars than taking a cab and a much nicer ride. Overall our stay was satisfactory and we would probably stay here again.
