After driving around lost for hours attempting to find parking in the very crowded lot, we checked in and wandered around lost for hours attempting to find our room. The room was okay, nothing special with poor lightiing. It was a very basic room. The lobby and general environment were lovely if you like crowds. There were very few restaurants open on a Sunday and the ones that were open were extremely expensive. Parking was expensive. Oh, and don't forget there is a resort fee. I don't recommend this unless you are doing something Opry related; otherwise, I recommend just visiting the lobby if you want to see it.

My husband and I just spent four days at the hotel. Unfortunately Nashville got a snow strom. We did go to the Ryman's Theater on Friday night but I was sure glad to get back to the hotel. People certainly do not now how to drive in a few inches of snow. Saturday everything was closed down so we had to stay at the hotel. The restaurants were way overpriced and everything was a la carte. Our drinks at every restaurant was a different price. On Sunday we went to the Brunch, there wasn't mush different then the buffets the other two mornings. Just $* more. In the afternoon we took the free shuttle that was running back and forth to the mall. After we got back we wanted to go to the Irish Pub for a small supper but it was closed. There wasn't anything in our room that told us the resturants were closed on certain days. If you are there for a vacation and a snow strom or anything mother nature bring you there isn't much in the hotel to do. Our room did'nt have a balcony which we would have like. We are in our 60's and we like the comforts of life. We have travel alot but we will never go back to that hotel. Nashville is still on our list to see but I will stay in another hotel. The hotel is beautiful but they certainly charge you for everything. I had to pay to use my computer, shuttles back and forth to the airport and town, a boat ride if you take it. With the price of the rooms things should be free. I have alot of friends and I will certainly tell them not to stay at that hotel.

They should rename this place "The Grand Gaylord". It is amazing, the staff was friendly and knowledgable, and there is something for everyone of any age. I highly recommend the Gaylord to anybody who might be considering a trip to Nashville.

My husband and I chose the Romantic Memories package to celebrate our honeymoon. On the actual hotel's website it gives many packages and what is included in these packages so it is clear what to expect which is good. Although, they do not just PROVIDE these amenities, we had to call the desk to receive our complimentary wine and strawberries. Our bed was supposed to be turned down and a gourmet chocolate placed on our pillows, we did not receive this. The next morning we awoke to an apology letter for the problem along with two free meals, drinks, and gratuity for my husband and I. This was very nice, but we did not receive our $* VIP coupon book from the hotel, and it also stated in the package that we were to have "breakfast in bed" which we also did not receive. This hotel is very beautiful and has very many things to do, I am just upset that we did not receive the things we were entitled to, and had to ask to receive the things we did.
